REGENT SQUARE

#1 Best Neighborhoods to Live and Raise a Family in Pittsburgh

#1 Best Neighborhoods to Buy a House in Pittsburgh

Regent Square may be tiny but it’s full of mighty appeal with wide streets, eclectic stores and a border with Frick Park.

Regent Square is a tree-lined neighborhood with many brick-paved streets and historic Victorian and bungalow-style homes. It is wonderfully buffered from the city by the steep valleys of Fern Hollow Creek and Nine Mile Run. Regent Square is part of four different municipalities: Edgewood, City of Pittsburgh, Swissvale, and Wilkinsburg. One of the best things going for Regent Square is Frick Park with its dog park, hiking trails, soccer fields, playgrounds, plus tennis fans love the Frick park clay courts. It is an active community, with the annual race Run Around the Square, Easter egg hunt, Halloween party, holiday house tours, and a Regent Square's Yard Sale.

In the village-like business district on Braddock Avenue that lies at the heart of Regent Square, you will find family and locally-owned businesses within a mere two blocks, such as coffee shops, bakeries, yoga studios, jewelers, art galleries, restaurants, boutiques, vintage dish-ware, lighting shops, and also basic amenities such as groceries and medical offices. Concept Art Gallery is sophisticated gallery hosting rotating exhibits & auctions. Not to miss is also lovely Glen Greene's Stained Glass studio.

Must Go Places in Regent Square

Madeleine Bakery & Bistro serves hot bread and pastries, Thai Cottage offers homestyle Thai fare, and El Burro Comedor brings Mexican spice. Locals also love Bosphorus Mediterranean Restaurant for Middle Eastern cuisine and the Ease of modern comfort food.

Much-loved is Square Café, a must for Sunday brunch. Across the street is D’s Six Pak and Dogs, another neighborhood classic where you can mix and match bottled beer from all over the world in the famous beer cave. Delicious food is served at dive bar & grille which is actually not really a dive as its a clean place.  Frick Park Tavern is making a difference in the community through scratch-made quality fare in a space that feels like home.
