Welcome to Wexford, where rustic charm meets suburban luxury just a stone's throw from Pittsburgh.
The Wexford suburb consists of four municipalities: Marshall, Pine, and McCandless Townships, and Franklin Park Borough. Its rural charm attracts many aficionados of rustic life. For some it’s home to several luxury car dealerships and numerous strip malls, for others it’s an idyllic place to build a million-dollar home of their dreams, and just within a 20-minute drive from Pittsburgh. Residents enjoy safe and well-maintained neighborhoods along with thousands of acres of park areas offering a plethora of activities.
Marshall Township
It was named after a famous lawyer Thomas Mercer Marshall who practiced in Allegheny County. Residents can enjoy three parks, Knob Hill Community Park, Warrendale Park, and Altmyer Park, for just about every activity: playing basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, disc golf, and where you can bring your children to have fun in the playgrounds, or simply enjoy a picnic with family and friends. There are plenty of hiking opportunities in the parks and there are two Native American trails in the area – the Venango Trail and the Kuskusky Path. Marshall is included in the North Allegheny School District.
Pine Township
Country feel is very much revered here. Life revolves around the Pine Community Center, where you can attend classes to stay fit and a variety of family-friendly events, where you can play sports, or go fishing, it truly offers programs for all generations. It is a part of the Pine-Richland School District.
Franklin Park Borough
Named after Benjamin Franklin, this borough is home to five parks, such as Acorn Park, Blueberry Hill Park or Linbrook Park, which beckon you to come and relax, attend family programs, or come and play golf at the Clover Hill Golf Course. Visit the family-owned, over-a-century-old farm Soergel Orchards, best known for its apples, if you need fresh produce and deli foods, plants for your garden or knickknacks for your home. Shop at T-Bones for a batch of fresh, home-made pierogis.
McCandless Township
Five parks offer ball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts, picnic pavilions, horseshoe courts, soccer fields, a golf course, a street hockey court, and two park areas: one with a walking trail and one with a fishing pond.
